What a Salt Room Actually Does
Long before it was a spa amenity, salt was a treatment. The room just makes it easier to breathe.
The idea is older than any of us. Miners working the salt caves of Eastern Europe noticed, generations ago, that they didn't cough the way people above ground did. Out of that observation came speleotherapy — sitting in a salt mine on purpose — and eventually halotherapy, its portable descendant: a room built to hold the same air without the mine.
